Exercise: In fewer than 400 words write a scene in which one character makes an apology to another.
-------------------------
To err is human, and a good apology can go a long way toward soothing
ruffled feathers. Apologies can be forced, insincere, and reeking of false repentance, or they can be honest, heartfelt requests for forgiveness.
For this exercise you need two characters, one of whom has been wronged
by the other, or feels wronged. Begin your story at the point where the apology is about to begin. Show us what the argument is about, but let the reader learn about both characters, their relationship; and the nature of the problem through effective use of dialogue and body language.

Critique by commenting on what you learned about the relationship
between the characters and the cause of the argument. As always, consider all aspects of the writing.
